What if we could raise a child entirely in a virtual world? What if care, closeness, and parenthood were no longer tied to a physical body?
“Wunschkind” (Desired Child) is a music theater project that combines contemporary music, dance, and augmented/virtual reality, creating a space where hope and unease, longing and alienation collide.
The production leads the audience into a world that reflects our present while simultaneously asserting a future—one in which analog and digital realities meet even more directly—full of friction, ambivalence, and new possibilities.
At its core is an exploration of the role of artificial intelligence in social life: What opportunities does it offer—and what is lost when care and transience disappear? “Wunschkind” invites you not only to contemplate these questions but to experience them firsthand.
